PENITENTIAL PRAYER OF SAINT EPHREM THE SYRIAN

O LORD and Master of my life, keep from me the spirit of indifference and discouragement, lust of power and idle chatter. (Sign of the Cross, then profound bow or prostration)

Instead, grant to me Your servant, the spirit of wholeness of being, humble-mindedness, patience, and love. (Sign of the Cross, then profound bow or prostration)

O Lord and King, grant me the grace to be aware of my sins and not to judge my brother; for You are blessed now and ever, and forever. Amen. (Sign of the Cross, then profound bow or prostration)

O God +, be merciful to me a sinner.
(Profound bow)
O God +, cleanse me of my sins, and have mercy on me.
(Profound bow)
O Lord +, forgive me for I have sinned without number.
(Profound bow)
(Repeat the above two more times, a total of three times)

Say the Prayer of Saint Ephrem straight through, without the prostrations. Then make one prostration after the "Amen" of the prayer.
